Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he is missing his hometown of Madeira and that he feels it especially at Christmas time.
The Portuguese sensation left Portugal as a teenager when he completed a move from Sporting CP to Manchester United back in 2003.
Ronaldo would go on to make the move to Real Madrid in 2009, with whom he has since won one Primera Division title as well as two Champions League trophies.
Ronaldo, who also won Euro 2016 with Portugal in the summer, said in a message posted on Instagram that he misses his homeland.
He wrote: "It's Christmas... am I the only one who gets homesick at this time of the year?! It will be so nice to spend some days in my Island, Madeira, and experience all the fun and joy, typically felt around there!!!"
