Rapper The Game has raised $64,000 (£48,000) for an Arkansas police officer who helps his local community

The Dreams star revealed this week (beg11Jul16) that his son had set up a GoFundMe fundraising page so they could aid police officer Tommy Norman continue his mission to help underprivileged children and ease racial tensions within his community in North Little Rock

They had hoped to reach $50,000 (£38,000) but the rapper's team have told Norman he will be receiving a cheque for more than $64,000.
The officer tells TMZ.com, "We're gonna start a non-profit... (the money) gives us more opportunities to make a difference to the people's lives here in North Little Rock... These last few days... is (are) something I'll remember for a long time."
Norman added that rappers T.I., Ludacris, Nelly, singer Chris Brown, actress Taraji P. Henson, and various American football players have reached out to him since The Game promoted his story.

The Game originally wrote on Instagram, "This is what a good cop looks like... Before you judge, look at his page & what he is doing to make his daily interactions with our youth more positive & (and) effective in the community he polices... @tnorman23 is someone to FOLLOW!!!
"I had conversations with my oldest son @hvrlemtaylor about good cops & bad ones & he did his research & found officer @tnorman23's page & i was touched by how active he is in the black community where he polices."
The rapper, who also praised the officer for "going the extra mile" to help young African-Americans, recently took part in a peace rally with Snoop Dogg in Los Angeles to help ease the tensions between cops and the black community following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, who were killed by police in separate incidents earlier this month (Jul16).
