Head of corporate services at the organisation, Mr Lanre Oladele has vowed to clamp down on marketers who sell the petrol above the official price of 86.50 Naira per litre.
Officials of the agency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were on supervision at some fuel service stations to assess the situation.
Spokesperson for the agency warned against hike in prices of petroleum product.
From Giri, the team moved to Kwali while some of the fuel stations were seen dispensing the products to motorists some were not selling at all.

Some fuel service stations across Nigeria are selling petrol above the approved pump price, as the scarcity of the product persisted.
The agency had dispensed petrol to buyers free of charge or sealed the station, as punishment for stations violating the price peg or under-dispensing.
