Suspected militants who pretented as NNPC officials blow up gas pipeline in Ogun

Suspected militants have blown up a gas pipeline at the PZ estate, Ogijo in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
The attack on the gas pipeline is coming few weeks after suspected militants attacked some villages in Imushin, a boundary community between Lagos and Ogun States, killing no fewer than 20 persons.
Residents of Ogijo community told Channels Television that the suspected militants pretended to be officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on pipeline maintenance patrol before carrying out the attack late Tuesday.

The divisional police officer (DPO) of Ogijo police station, Mohammed Tijani, told newsmen that his men were carrying out investigations to fish out the suspects.
“What we heard is that during the day, some people disguised as NNPC staff, came with two Hilux vehicles and pretended as if they carried out some repairs,” he said.
“Later at night, the explosion occurred,” Tijani said.
