Selena Gomez feels "honoured and proud" after being announced as one of the headliners for the 2016 Global Citizen Festival.
The 24-year-old singer is just one of the stars who will take to the stage for the annual concert, which will take place in Central Park in New York on 24 September (16).
Joining her on the bill will be Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Metallica and Major Lazer with Usher, Ellie Goulding, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Puerto Rican singer Yandel and Yusuf a.k.a. Cat Stevens lined up as guest performers.
After Global Citizen announced the bill, Selena revealed just how thrilled she is to be involved in the event for such a worthy cause - the organisation aims to put an end to poverty by the year 2030.
"I couldn't be more honoured to participate in the Global Citizen Festival as it continues to help solve important issues around the world," Selena said in a statement. "I am particularly proud to be involved this year as the focus is on education. As an artist with many young fans, I believe everyone has the right to an education.
