Mark inaugurated for sixth time as senator
Former Senate president, David Mark, on Wednesday received heroic welcome as he was inaugurated for sixth time as a Senator.
The Senate in an uncommon solidarity gave Mark a standing ovation when he was walked into the Senate chamber.
He was inaugurated at exactly 11:00am by Senate president Bukola Saraki after taking the traditional oath of office and oath of allegiance.
Shortly after the inauguration, Senators in a show of solidarity took turns to hug and exchanged banters with Mark.
The inauguration of the former Senate president followed his victory at the February 20 Benue South Senatorial re-run election.
He thanked his constituents and Nigerians alike for the support and prayers that helped him to win the election.
He is currently the longest serving Senator in the country.
