AS the governorship election in Edo State draws nearer, a member of the House of Representatives, Ehiozwa Johnson Agbonayinma, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will take over the governance of the state from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state. Agbonayinma, who represents Egor Ikpoba Okha federal constituency of Edo State on the platform of the PDP, in an interview with Vanguard in Abuja, said that the PDP will not only use the APC’s broom to sweep away the dirt gathered by the ruling party in the state, but will use wisdom and people with excellent credentials to flush out the APC.
He said that his constituency was the most marginalised in the country because there was no government presence like roads, industry, and health system, adding that even the health system that was donated to the people by a company with all the facilities and given to state government had been taken over by grass. The lawmaker said, that though Governor Adams Oshiomhole of APC had performed based on his capacity, somebody from the PDP who would bring back the state to the part of rapid development will take over from the governor. On how prepared the PDP was to wrestle power from the ruling APC, he said, “You don’t need to ask that, the media should know the truth.
I am not saying this just because I belong to the PDP, but we are going to reclaim back Edo State, PDP is going to take over Edo state, be rest assured. “I believe it because the people are already singing it that yes, they have tasted almost eight years of APC, ACN now to APC. It is about time to give another opportunity, another chance for PDP to tell the world what it can do.
Yes there is no perfection in humanity but I can assure you and tell you that this time, we must give it over 99.9 per cent correct because there is no perfection in humanity. “There might be some areas that you can say no we have erred, you can’t be 100 percent perfect but let’s put the people first, let’s tell the people the truth. They already understand and know for almost eight years now what they have experienced, what they have gone through in terms of developments. “We are talking about reality, what is on ground not speculation, not putting structures there to disseminate wrong information, enough is enough, now they people are wiser, they understand that the democracy that they thought was let the people lead, they people are not the ones leading any more.”
