Genevieve's Road to Yesterday parades stars at Lagos premiere
The much-awaited Nigerian premiere of Genevieve Nnaji’s debut production, Road To Yesterday,’ which held last Friday, November 13, at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema, Lagos, was graced by frontline Nigerian entertainers and celebrities including Joke Sylva, Rita Dominic, Ramsey Noah, Desmond Elliot, Omotola Jalade-Ekainde, Funke Akindele, Banky W and Florence Ita Giwa among a host of others.
Starring Genevieve as Victoria, the flick was released on the stables of The Entertainment Network (T.E.N), with support from Africa Magic and directed by Ishaya Bako. It also stars other big names like Ebere Okaro, Majid Michel and Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah as well as Nigerian-British actor, Oris Erhuerho, who played Genevieve’s husband, Izu.
Commenting, the multiple award-winning star actress said that Road to yesterday is a story of what she described as Journey back in time:
“Road to yesterday is about a journey back into time. It is about a couple in a determined bid to mend their marriage but first they have to try to trace the history of their problem.” Set in Lagos, Genevieve also explained that she deliberately casted several non-regular faces in order to create opportunity for talented and passionate individuals to showcase their skills.
