DPR seals up 50 filling stations in Oyo for selling products above government approved price

Fuel scarcity: DPR seals up 50 filling stations in Oyo

The inspection teams of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), in Ibadan field office has sealed off about 50 filling stations across Oyo State for various offences including sale of the product above the government approved pump price.

The DPR teams are also sanctioning erring fuel marketers for other offences ranging from hoarding of petroleum products, thereby creating artificial scarcity, absconding from station when people queue up to buy fuel and delaying sale of fuel product till late in the night to make illegal gains.
The development followed tip-off and series of complaints from members of the public.

Consequently, Daily Trust gathered that staff of the DPR, working in separate teams with the assistance of men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps visited the interior parts of the state where sharp practices are rampant.
