Obama wishes Usher happy Birthday as he turns 37

Usher is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but even he was humbled when the president and first lady remembered his birthday.
The music star turned 37 on Wednesday and spent the day in Washington, DC, filming a new concert series for PBS called 'In Performance at the White House'.

Video shows the moment Usher was speaking with the president in the Blue Room of the White House, when an aide sneakily brings a cupcake lit with a single candle over to the first lady to present to the musician.

The president and Mrs Obama then jump into a rendition of Happy Birthday, while Usher grins ear to ear and says: 'Are you getting this?' to the person filming the touching moment.

'I couldn't be more grateful for this moment and all of the birthday wishes,' Usher wrote when he posted the video on Facebook on Saturday.
Queen Latifah, Smokey Robinson and cellist Esperanza Spalding also took part in 'In Performance at the White House'.

Usher is no stranger to the White House, having been chosen to perform at the president's inauguration in 2009.
