The Nigerian Air Force says it will provide needed air power to weaken operational bases of insurgents and provide needed support for surface forces to operate.
In addition to the promised air power to face the security challenges especially in the nation’s northeast, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, also expressed the belief that provision of adequate welfare facilities for officers and men would enhance effectiveness in carrying out their duties.
The 330 Nigerian Air Force Station in Jos, north central Nigeria, played host to the Chief of Air Staff on wednesday during a working visit to inspect some on-going construction works for the accommodation of airmen.

With the various on-going security challenges in the northeast, the Air Chief in response to the capability of the Air Force to prosecute the war successfully, expressed confidence that the air power of the Air Force was always complimenting efforts of the ground forces.
The Air Chief took time to inspect the projects which include six blocks of three bedrooms flat for married officers as well as 12 blocks of two bedrooms flat for senior non-commission officers which are to enhance the effectiveness of the officers in carrying out their professional duties.
Contractors handling the projects were admonished to adhere strictly to specifications and provide necessary facility that would make the officers comfortable when they move in.
