Ambode said this during an interactive session at the 2016-second-quarter-town-hall meeting in Badagry. However, residents of Badagry and neighbouring communities urged the governor to provide them electricity as they have suffered, not having access to electricity supply in the last 17 years.

Other demands from the people included provided special schools for people with disabilities, reconstruction of bad roads, motor parks along the Mile 2-Badagry Expressway.

Ambode continued that his administration had commenced a comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrading of hospital facilities across the state.“Modern equipment will be procured to facilitate treatment of patients and we will invest in capacity building of our medical staff.
“We intend to spend over N10 billion on our hospitals across the state before December this year. We will recruit and train medical professionals in areas of rare specialisation and special needs,” Ambode said.
The governor said another N10billion had been earmarked for the facelift of all primary and secondary schools across the state. We will upgrade the infrastructure in all our schools starting from this month of July.

He added that 1,300 teachers had been recruited for primary schools, while a technical and vocational school would be established in Badagry and its ground breaking would hold in September.
He said his administration would pay greater attention to issues concerning the elderly.“I urge the private sector for support and collaboration thereafter.
