An emotional Lady Gaga has addressed reports surrounding her split from fiance Taylor Kinney.

It was reported on Tuesday that the pair had gone their separate ways following five years together, with insiders claiming that their long distance relationship and hectic schedules got in the way.

Breaking her silence, she took to Instagram late on Tuesday to confirm they are indeed taking a break, but she hopes they will get back together at some stage.

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates,” she wrote. "Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.
