Eva Longoria took her time in bringing out a clothing line until she could work on it full time

Eva Longoria has been sewing since she was young, and even has a sewing room in her house.

Eva Longoria held off bringing out a clothing line until she could work on it full time.

The actress made a name for herself as glamorous Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives, before adding the role of producer to her resume.

Her latest venture is in fashion, teaming up with U.S. retailer The Limited. Unveiling her new collection to the press on Monday (25Jul16), Eva showed off both day and night designs, with chic tailoring and figure hugging dresses reflecting her own style.

"People keep asking me why it's taken me so long to do a clothing line, because I've been wanting to do it forever," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "I was

offered a lot of different deals - it was basically to just put your name on something. But I wanted to be part of the process. I wanted to design, I wanted to help in the sourcing, I wanted to be involved in buying the artwork (for prints and graphics), everything. And to do that, it is its own full-time job."

And proving how much she believes in the brand, Eva took to the stage at the Democratic National Convention wearing one of her designs to show her support for presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

Fashion has always been a part of 41-year-old Eva's life, who has been sewing and making garments since she was young.

"I used to sew throw pillows and curtains -- that's why I started my home line first," she smiled. "And then I started making dresses for my friends. Armholes were really hard, though! But I loved it, and I've been sewing for a very long time. I have a sewing room in my house and I have the industrial sewing machines."
