The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has rescheduled hearing on an appeal filed by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, against his trial over alleged false assets declaration, tills October 2016.
Saraki is challenging the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to try him on the charges.The five-man panel of the court led by Justice Abdul Aboki, announced its decision after the appeal was mentioned and indicating it would hear the appeal after the ongoing compulsory vacation of the courts.
The decision of the court for adjournment however followed a submission by Counsel to Saraki, Kanu Agabi (SAN) when the matter was called, where he told the court he was not ready for the hearing on the matter.
Also, an appeal filed by former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), was yesterday adjourned to October by the same Court of Appeal.
Hearing on the appeal by the former NSA was adjourned after his counsel, Adedayo Adedeji, regularised his brief of argument.
