Men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) have prevented an attempt to destroy a pipeline in Gbaramatu on Tuesday.
The Nation gathered that JTF Operation, Pulo Shield, successfully repelled another attempt by a group of persons to destroy a strategic pipeline in the Odidi oil fields, situated at Kantu, one of the communities in Gbaramatu.
Although efforts to officially confirm the development were unsuccessful as officials who could have confirmed what happened could not be reached on
phone, community sources and an unofficial source in the military confirmed the development.
“It happened in the early hours of Tuesday. One of our men was injured and the criminals sustained more casualties fleeing from us. We are still on their trail”, a reliable military source said.
