Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola yesterday paid N302 million compensation to residents, whose property will pave the way for the construction of the Olaiya/Ita Olokan Road in Osogbo.
The governor said his administration would not renege on his promises to make life meaningful and abundant for the people.
Aregbesola, who was represented by Deputy Governor Mrs. Grace Titi-Laoye, gave the reassurance at the distribution of cheques to the families.
The governor said his administration had spent over N2 billion as compensation to people, whose property and belongings were separated from the main roads since his inception.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, praised the governor for the rapid development of the state capital, which he described as unprecedented.
