Watch jaw-dropping moment plane takes off so close to group of tourists it almost skims their heads-off

This dramatic footage shows the jaw-dropping moment a plane takes off almost skimming the heads of a bunch of plane spotters.

The Princess Juliana International Airport on the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean is famed for its runway finishing metres from the sea.

This daredevil cameraman placed himself right on the end of the runway as he waited for a plane to race at him.

The passenger jet approaches at a terrifying speed and with a deafening roar, rising just before reaching the sea.


It soars over the cameraman and looks close enough to touch.

"Awesome!' shouts the man holding the camera. 'That was worth losing my hat over."
