The 35-year-old actress, who is launching her own capsule clothing collection for Torrid next month, insists she has no problem with the term ''plus-size.''
She said: ''To me, getting an A+ in school is better than getting an A and I'm being called 'plus.' I kind of like being curvy and eating dessert every second night so that's kinda why I am the way I am.''
The 'Pitch Perfect' star wants to be a positive role model for young women by promoting a healthy body image.
She told E! News at the launch of her new line at the Milk Studios in Los Angeles on Thursday night (22.10.15): ''I think all you should be worried about is if you're healthy. If you're unhealthy, you should maybe do something about it.''
She also recently said: ''I was always the kind of person who cared what was on the inside. I'm a person who uses my brain; it's not really about my personal aesthetic. But then I realised that if girls can see me standing next to really skinny actresses holding my own and being really confident in how I look, then that's a good message to send.''
The Australian star decided to launch her own line after she noticed there were very few glamorous options for curvy young women.
She told PEOPLE magazine: ''A lot of plus-size clothing didn't seem cool or on-trend. It was kind of like what your auntie would wear to a wedding.''
