A New York police officer reportedly has died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
According to The New York Times, the officer, 33-year-old Randolph Holder, was shot about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after he responded to reports of an armed robbery in Harlem. A man who had been shot in the leg was found five blocks away and taken into custody.

Police also found a bicycle and gun but did not say whether they were related to the incident, the Times reports.
Holder joined the New York Police Department five years ago, according to The Associated Press.
“"We are humbled by Officer Randolph Holder's example – an example of service and courage and sacrifice," Mayor Bill de Blasio said. "Our hearts are heavy. We offer our thoughts and our prayers to his family."
